Rashmika Mandanna, the popular actress in Tollywood, was born on April 5, 1996, in Virajpet, Kodagu, Karnataka, India. She went to Coorg Public School in Kodagu for her schooling and later graduated from M. S. Ramaiah College in India, with a degree in Psychology, Journalism, and English Literature.

Since she was young, Rashmika dreamt of becoming an actress. She started working towards this dream during her college days by featuring in various advertisements. In 2014, she took part in the Clean & Clear Times Fresh Face of India competition and won the award in 2015.

Career

In 2016, Rashmika started her acting journey with the Kannada film ‘Kirik Party,’ making a splash in the industry. It became one of the top-grossing films that year in Kannada. The Times of India praised her performance, saying she portrayed the character Saanvi with ease. She won the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress for her role. The following year, in 2017, Rashmika appeared in two Kannada films, ‘Anjani Putra’ and ‘Chamak,’ both of which were commercially successful. While some felt she was overshadowed in ‘Anjani Putra,’ she was hailed as a “revelation” in ‘Chamak.’

Expanding her horizons to Telugu cinema in 2018, Rashmika starred in the comedy-drama ‘Chalo,’ receiving positive reviews for her confident debut.
