Early Life
Dimri was born and raised in Garhwal, Uttarakhand, to Meenakshi and Dinesh, in a supportive Hindu family. She revealed in an interview that her parents have always encouraged her career aspirations.
She attended Delhi Public School in Firozabad for her schooling. Afterward, she pursued a degree in psychology from Sri Aurobindo College. Following her graduation, Dimri enrolled in the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune to pursue her passion for acting.
Career
Dimri began her acting journey with a role in the 2017 comedy “Poster Boys,” directed by Shreyas Talpade. Although her performance received moderate praise, she was overshadowed by the ensemble cast. In the same year, she appeared in a leading role in the romantic drama “Laila Majnu,” where she portrayed the character of Laila opposite Avinash Tiwary. Critics appreciated her portrayal of Laila, noting her ability to bring depth to the character.
After a brief break, Dimri garnered widespread acclaim for her role as the protagonist in the 2020 supernatural drama “Bulbbul,” directed by Anvita Dutt and produced by Anushka Sharma. Her performance earned her a Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor, Web Original Film (Female). Critics praised her nuanced portrayal and her ability to captivate audiences with her expressions.
In 2022, Dimri reunited with Dutt for the film “Qala,” where she played the title role of a young singer with Swastika Mukherjee, Babil Khan, Amit Sial, Sameer Kochhar, Girija Oak, Swanand Kirkire, Varun Grover and Abhishek Banerjee.
She then appeared in a brief role in the action thriller “Animal” (2023) alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Shakti Kapoor, Mrinmayee Godbole & Upendra Limaye.
In 2024, Dimri is seen in “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam” alongside Vicky Kaushal, and roles in films such as “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” with Rajkummar Rao, and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” alongside Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan.
