Mahesh Babu began his acting career at a young age, making his debut as a child actor in the Telugu film “Needa” at the age of four. He continued to act in several films as a child artist throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. In 1999, he made his debut as a lead actor in the romantic comedy “Rajakumarudu,” which was commercially successful and earned him the title “Prince.” He followed this with several films in the early 2000s, including “Murari,” which was a critical and commercial success.

His career saw a setback with films like “Takkari Donga” and “Bobby” in 2002, but he bounced back with his performance in “Okkadu” in 2003, which became the highest-grossing Telugu film of the year. Babu received acclaim for his role in the film. The same year, he also starred in “Nijam,” for which he received praise despite the film’s commercial failure.
