Career
Kavita Kaushik embarked on her acting journey in 2001 with the Hindi TV serial ‘Kutumb,’ where she portrayed the character of Sakshi Malhotra. The show aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Following her debut, Kavita appeared in several Hindi TV serials such as ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ (2001; Star Plus), ‘Kohi Apna Sa’ (2002; Zee TV), ‘Kahani Terrii Merrii’ (2003; Sony), ‘Ruby Duby Hub Dub’ (2004; Sahara One), and ‘Saarrthi’ (2005; Star Plus). In 2006, Kavita shot to fame by essaying the role of ‘Chandramukhi Chautala’ in the SAB TV Hindi series ‘F.I.R.’ The show ran from 2006 to 2015.
In addition to her television career, Kavita has participated in various Hindi reality TV shows such as ‘Nach Baliye 3’ (2008), ‘Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo’ (2010), ‘Box Cricket League 1’ (2014), and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8’ (2015). She also entered the popular reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss Season 14’ as a wildcard contestant in 2020.
Kavita made her Hindi film debut in 2004 with the movie ‘Ek Hasina Thi,’ where she portrayed Karan’s girlfriend. She has also appeared in other Hindi films like ‘Mumbai Cutting’ (2008), ‘Phillum City’ (2011), and ‘Zanjeer’ (2013; also in Telugu).
In 2017, Kavita ventured into Punjabi cinema with the film ‘Vekh Baraatan Challiyan,’ marking her Punjabi film debut as Gagan. She has since appeared in Punjabi films like ‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’ (2018), ‘Mindo Taseeldarni’ (2019), and ‘Carry on Jatta 3’ (2023). Kavita has also showcased her talent in the digital space, acting in Hindi web series like ‘The Cobweb’ (2021; MX Player) and ‘Chalo Koi Baat Nahi’ (2021; Sony Liv).
Additionally, Kavita contributed her voice for the character of Mittens/Milli in the Hindi dub of the English animated film ‘Bolt’ in 2008. She also lent her voice to a song in the Hindi web series ‘Tera Chhalaava,’ which streamed on MX Player in 2022. Furthermore, Kavita has appeared in TV commercials for brands like Mirinda, Tide, and Caragarbati.
