Shraddha Kapoor was born on March 3, 1987, in Mumbai, India. She had a regular upbringing, attending Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later transferring to the American School Of Bombay at 16 for higher studies. Actively involved in extracurriculars, she participated in plays and musicals. Shraddha then enrolled at Boston University to major in Psychology but dropped out during her freshman year.

Post-schooling, she auditioned for acting roles, securing minor parts in various movies. Producer Ambika Ahuja noticed her talent and cast her in the successful 2010 film “Teen Patti,” marking the start of her leading lady career. Despite offers since the age of 16, Shraddha initially declined roles as she aspired to become a psychologist.

While the movie received mixed reviews, Shraddha’s performance earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Following this, she took on the lead role in the 2011 love story and comedy-drama Luv Ka The End with Jannat Zubair Rahmani, Ali Zafar wherein she received praises and also won the Stardust Searchlight Award for Best Actress despite mixed reviews.
