Early Life
Bedi was born into a family with a strong cricketing background, his father being the former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi. He has an elder sister named Neha and two older half-siblings, a half-sister named Gillinder and a half-brother named Gavasinder, from his father’s previous marriage.
Growing up, Bedi pursued cricket and played up to the Under-19 level for Delhi. He received his education at Gyan Bharati School in Saket, New Delhi, and later graduated from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
Career
Bedi began his acting career in 2004 with the film “Kaya Taran,” directed by Sashi Kumar. The film tackled the sensitive subjects of the 2002 Gujarat riots and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Bedi’s performance in the film was well-received, earning him praise from critics.
In 2005, he expanded his horizons by hosting a cooking show called “Cook Na Kaho” on Star One. He later ventured into hosting sports-related programs, such as “Extraaa Innings T20” during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2010, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. Additionally, he appeared as a contestant on Season 3 of Colors’ show “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.” He also hosted the first season of the reality television show “Emotional Atyachar” on UTV Bindass, though he was later replaced.
Bedi returned to Bollywood in 2011 with the film “F.A.L.T.U,” directed by Remo D’Souza. His notable performances include roles in films like “Ungli” (2014) and “PINK” (2016). He also appeared in “Tiger Zinda Hai” alongside Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sajjad Delafrooz, Paresh Rawal, Kumud Mishra, Nawab Shah, Anupriya Goenka, Mukesh Khanna, Varun Sharma & Samir Kochhar. In 2017, he took on a lead role in the Amazon original series “Inside Edge,” marking a significant milestone in his career.
His versatility as an actor was further showcased in films such as “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl” with Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and “Soorma,” with Diljit Dosanjh. He appeared in “The Zoya Factor,” adding to his diverse portfolio in the film industry.
