Anil Kapoor began his film career in 1970, but his debut film “Tu Payal Mein Geet” didn’t release theatrically. In the 1980s, Kapoor made his mark in various film industries. He debuted as a lead actor in the Telugu film “Vamsa Vruksham” in 1980 and appeared in Hindi films like “Ek Baar Kaho” and “Hum Paanch.” His breakthrough came with “Mashaal” in 1984, where his tapori persona gained recognition. “Meri Jung” in 1985 earned him his first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor.
Throughout the 1980s, Kapoor continued to deliver hits like “Karma,” “Janbaaz,” and “Mr. India,” establishing himself as a versatile actor. His performance in “Tezaab” won him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 1988.
In the early 1990s, Kapoor starred in successful films like “Kishen Kanhaiya” and “Ghar Ho To Aisa.” Despite critical acclaim for “Awaargi,” his career faced setbacks with films like “Jamai Raja” and “Jeevan Ek Sanghursh.”
