Rakul Preet Singh was born on 10 October 1990 in New Delhi to a Punjabi Sikh family. She attended Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan for her schooling and later pursued a degree in mathematics at Jesus and Mary College. Her father served in the army, and her mother is Rajender Kaur, while her father’s name is Kulwinder Singh. Rakul has a younger brother named Aman Preet Singh, who is gearing up for his Bollywood debut in the film “Ram Rajya.”

Rakul Preet Singh, born on 10 October 1990 in New Delhi, always dreamed of being an actress. She began her career in modeling at 18 while still in college. In 2009, she made her acting debut in the Kannada film “Gilli,” a remake of Selvaraghavan’s “7G Rainbow Colony.” She initially took the role to earn some extra money and didn’t realize the significance of South Indian films.
Her performance in “Gilli” earned her critical acclaim, but she returned to complete her degree and later participated in the 2011 Femina Miss India pageant, where she won several subtitles. Rakul ventured back into films in 2011 with “Keratam,” featuring opposite Siddharth Rajkumar. She appeared in a supporting role in the Tamil film “Thadaiyara Thaakka” in 2012.
In 2013, she acted in the Tamil film “Puthagam” and the Telugu film “Venkatadri Express,” which became a commercial success and earned her a Best Actress nomination at the 61st Filmfare Awards South. Her Bollywood debut was in 2014 with “Yaariyan,” and she continued her Tamil journey with “Yennamo Yedho.” She simultaneously worked on three Telugu films, including “Loukyam” and “Current Theega,” receiving positive reviews.
From 2015 to 2018, Rakul gained prominence in Telugu cinema with lead roles in high-profile films like “Kick 2,” “Bruce Lee,” “Nannaku Prematho,” and “Sarrainodu.” She received her first Best Actress (Telugu) award at the 6th South Indian International Movie Awards.
