Early Life
Ajay Devgn was born into a Punjabi Hindu family from Amritsar, Punjab. His family has ties to the Hindi film industry in Mumbai. His father, Veeru Devgan, was involved in stunts and directed action films, while his mother, Veena, is a film producer. Ajay graduated from Silver Beach High School in Juhu and later studied at Mithibai College.
In 1992, Ajay started dating actress Karisma Kapoor during the filming of Jigar, but they broke up in 1995. That same year, his relationship with actress Kajol began while working together in Gundaraj. The media found them an “unlikely pair” due to their different personalities. They got married on February 24, 1999, in a traditional Maharashtrian Hindu ceremony at the Devgan home. The couple has two children – Nysa, born in 2003, and Yug, born in 2010.
Ajay and Kajol took a unique step by preserving their son’s umbilical cord blood and tissues for potential stem cell use in case of serious illness.
