Jacky was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, to a Sindhi family. After finishing school, he earned a commerce degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. Additionally, he took an acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Career

After coming back to India, Jackky Bhagnani joined his father’s company, Puja Entertainment and Films Pvt. Ltd., in 2009, starting as a producer. In the same year, he took his first shot at acting with Kal Kissne Dekha, but unfortunately, it didn’t do well in theaters and received mostly negative reviews. Before that, he had a small role in the 2001 romantic drama Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.

In 2011, Jackky appeared in F.A.L.T.U., which did decently at the box office and had mixed reviews. Following that, his movie Ajab Gazabb Love was released, but it faced challenges and didn’t succeed at the box office.

Moving on to 2014, Jackky starred in an action drama film called Rangrezz, but it also didn’t perform well commercially. Later, he appeared in the film Youngistaan, which faced criticism from reviewers and didn’t do well financially.

Besides acting, Jackky entered the production scene in 2016 with the hit biographical drama Sarbjit. He went on to produce several commercially successful films, including Dil Juunglee (2018), Welcome to New York (2018), Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), Coolie No. 1 (2020), Bell Bottom (2021), Chuttputlli (2022), and more.

Additionally, Jackky appeared in various music videos like Choodiyan (2019), Aa Jaana (2019), and Jugni 2.0 (2020). Beyond acting and producing, Jackky is also an entrepreneur with investments in diverse businesses and startups, ranging from real estate to food and beverage companies. He is the founder of Jjust Music, a music label releasing songs from several popular artists.
