Career

In 2005, Vaidya placed third in the debut season of Indian Idol. Despite losing in the penultimate round on February 18, 2005, he quickly embarked on his musical journey. Just eight months later, he released his first album, “Tera Intezar,” with music composed by Sajid–Wajid. The album featured collaborations such as “Hello Madam, I am your Adam,” a duet with fellow Indian Idol runner-up Prajakta Shukre, and “God Promise Dil Dola” with Shreya Ghoshal for the film Shaadi No. 1.

Following his album release, Vaidya ventured into playback singing for movies like Jigyasa, Hot Money, and Krazzy 4, as well as lending his voice to the title song of the television series Ek Ladki Anjaani Si.

In 2008, Vaidya expanded his television presence as the host of the show Jjhoom India. He also clinched the title of Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, a reality singing competition. In 2013, Vaidya’s rendition of “Be Intehaan” (Unplugged) from the movie Race 2 garnered attention. He further showcased his patriotism by releasing the song “Vande Mataram” on Independence Day.

Continuing his television journey, Vaidya co-hosted the dance reality show Aajaa Mahi Vay with Vinit Singh. Vaidya’s talent shone bright in the singing competition Music Ka Maha Muqqabla, where he led Shankar’s Rockstars to victory, triumphing over Shaan’s Strikers in the finale.

In 2020, Vaidya entered the reality show Bigg Boss 14, finishing as the runner-up. He competed with Eijaz Khan, Nikki Tamboli, Abhinav Shukla, Rubina Dilaik, Jasmin Bhasin, Nishant Singh Malkani, Shehzad Deol, Sara Gurpal, Jaan Kumar Sanu, Pavitra Punia, Rahul Vaidya, Kavita Kaushik, Naina Singh, Shardul Pandit, Aly Goni, Sonali Phogat, Vikas Gupta, Rakhi Sawant, Kashmera Shah, Rahul Mahajan, Arshi Khan, Manu Punjabi, Radhe Maa & Devoleena Bhattacharjee
