Career
Aditya Narayan started his career in playback singing with his first song for the Nepalese film Mohini in 1992. He then ventured into Bollywood with the song “Rangeela” from the film Rangeela, alongside Asha Bhosle. In 1995, he collaborated with his father, Udit Narayan, for a song in the movie Akele Hum Akele Tum.
As a child artist, Narayan caught the attention of producer Subhash Ghai at the 1995 Filmfare Awards. This led to his acting debut in Ghai’s film Pardes, followed by Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai. His performance in the latter earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 1999 Zee Cine Awards.
During his early years, Narayan sang over 100 songs and released the album Aditya at Polygram Music. His notable song “Chhota Baccha Jaan Ke” from the film Masoom won him critical acclaim and awards.
In 2006, Narayan pursued a diploma in English contemporary music at Tech Music Schools, London. Upon his return to India, he auditioned for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 and later became the show’s anchor. He also embarked on a concert tour with his father across North America and the West Indies.
In 2009, Narayan made his acting debut as a lead in the film Shaapit. He continued to host TV shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 and X Factor. In 2014, Narayan released his first independent single “Tu Hi Pyar Hai” and formed a band called The A Team. He hosted Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs in 2015 and 2016.
Subsequently, Narayan released several singles including “Tera Ishq Jee Paaun” and “Zindagi”. He also ventured into music video direction and production, releasing singles like “Mohabbat”, “Behka Behka”, and “Yaara”.
In 2017 and 2018, Narayan hosted Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa respectively. He also participated in reality shows like Entertainment Ki Raat and Khatron Ke Khiladi, where he finished as the runner-up.
In 2019, Narayan continued his hosting stint with Rising Star and made episodic appearances on Khatra Khatra Khatra. He released singles like “Lillah” and collaborated with Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar for the song “Goa Beach”.
In 2020, Narayan released singles like “Main Dooba Rahoon” and “Kyun”. He also featured as the lead in his father’s solo single “Tere Bagair”.
