Career
Kaushal embarked on his Bollywood journey in 2016, starring in the comedy-drama road film “Sunshine Music Tours and Travels” and the TV Mini-Series “Official Chukyagiri.” He also appeared in the short film “Love at First Sight.”
In 2018, Kaushal gained critical acclaim for his role in Reema Kagti’s historical sports drama “Gold,” where he portrayed Himmat Singh, a character inspired by Balbir Singh Sr. His performance earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 25th Screen Awards. The same year, he featured in the TV Mini-Series “Official CEOgiri” and the short film “The Embrace,” which received a nomination at the Filmfare Awards.
Next, in 2020, Kaushal starred in the dance-based film “Bhangra Paa Le” alongside Rukshar Dhillon. Later that year, he headlined Amazon Prime Video’s original series “The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye,” directed by Kabir Khan, which depicted the Indian National Army’s fight for independence during World War II.
In 2021, Kaushal portrayed Jaggi Dil in the romantic drama “Shiddat,” showcasing his desperation to reach London to be with his love. Despite being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film received praise for Kaushal’s convincing performance.
