Career
Kalnawat embarked on his career in 2016, initially stepping into the world of modeling. His journey into acting commenced in 2017 with a brief role as Dhruv in “Aye Zindagi.” Shortly after, in July 2017, he made his television debut on StarPlus’s “Meri Durga,” where he portrayed the lead role of Sanjay Singh Ahlawat until the show concluded in March 2018.
In May 2018, Kalnawat was cast as Rehaan Thakur in “Mariam Khan – Reporting Live,” but he departed from the show in September 2018 due to personal reasons. Throughout the same year, he made episodic appearances in shows like “Kaun Hai?” and “Laal Ishq.”
In 2019, Kalnawat made his digital debut in ALT Balaji’s “Dil Hi Toh Hai 2” as Shivam Noon opposite Palak Purswani. He also portrayed Faraz Sheikh in “Ishq Aaj Kal” alongside Ankitta Sharma and others. He reprised his role as Shivam in “Dil Hi Toh Hai 3” in early 2020.
His breakthrough came in March 2020 when he landed the role of Samar Shah in “Anupamaa.” His portrayal of Samar garnered widespread acclaim, propelling him to household name status. Following this success, he ventured into music videos, appearing in several popular tracks.
In July 2022, Kalnawat announced his participation in the dance-based reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10.” However, this decision led to the termination of his contract with “Anupamaa,” with allegations of unprofessionalism from the show’s producers. Kalnawat defended his choice, citing career growth opportunities.
In March 2023, he began portraying Rajveer Arora Luthra in Zee TV’s “Kundali Bhagya.” He continued to diversify his portfolio, joining Pocket FM’s audio series “Secret Ameerzada” in 2024. Throughout his career, Kalnawat has also made guest appearances in various television shows and has been featured in numerous music videos, showcasing his versatility as an entertainer.
