Career
Ludacris began his career as an intern and DJ at Atlanta’s Hot 97.5 (now Hot 107.9), using the name “Chris Lova Lova”. During this time, he met music producer Timbaland, leading to his appearance on Tim’s Bio: Life from da Bassment with the track “Phat Rabbit”.
In 1999, Ludacris released his debut album, Incognegro, through his independent label Disturbing tha Peace. The album was later repackaged and released by Def Jam South as Back for the First Time in 2000, reaching number four on the U.S. Billboard 200.
His second album, Word of Mouf, released in 2001, featured the hit single “Area Codes” and the Grammy-nominated “Rollout (My Business)”. Ludacris continued his success with singles like “Saturday (Oooh! Ooooh!)” and “Move Bitch”.
