Career
Starting from her college days, Kranti Redkar began participating in college plays and also worked in several Marathi plays. Her film debut happened with “Soon Asavi Ashi” in 2000, where she starred opposite Ankush Chaudhari. Shortly after, she appeared in a small role as Apurva Kumari, a kidnapped girl, in Prakash Jha’s critically acclaimed “Gangaajal” in 2003.
In 2005, she was part of the film “U, Bomsi n Me,” which didn’t fare well commercially. However, her career took a significant turn with the 2006 Marathi comedy “Jatra: Hyalagaad Re Tyalagaad,” directed by Kedar Shinde. The film was a huge success, and her performance in the superhit song “Kombadi Palali” made her a household name. Following this success, she collaborated with Bharat Jadhav and Kedar Shinde again in “Majha Navra Tujhi Bayko,” a romantic comedy.
In 2007, Kranti Redkar appeared in two films, “Soon Majhi Bhagyachi” and “Ghartyasathi Sar Kahi.” The next year, she starred in the super-hit family drama “Sakkha Savatra,” followed by the comedy “Gaon Tasa Changala.” In 2009, she worked in “Mata Ekvira Navsala Pauli,” directed by her father, Dinanath Redkar, portraying the devotee of the goddess Ekvira.
Moving on to the 2010s, in 2010, she appeared in “Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho,” which received critical acclaim. The same year, she starred in “On Duty 24 Taas,” “Ladi Godi,” and “Target.” In 2011, she was part of “Shahanpan Dega Deva” and “Fakta Ladh Mhana,” followed by “Teen Bayka Fajiti Aika” and “No Entry: Pudhe Dhoka Aahey” in 2012. Her last release in 2012 was “Pipani,” directed by Gajendra Ahire.
In 2013, Kranti Redkar appeared in “Love is Vaat” and “Kuni Ghar Deta Ka Ghar,” followed by “Kho-Kho” in 2014. In 2015, she worked in “Yudh: Astitvachi Ladai” and “Sugar Salt Ani Prem.” The same year, she appeared in “Murder Mestri” and made her directorial debut with “Kaakan.” Continuing in the 2010s, Kranti Redkar starred in “Kiran Kulkarni vs Kiran Kulkarni” in 2016 and “Karaar” in 2017. She also appeared in “Truckbhar Swapna” in 2018, “Rocky” and “Baalaa” in 2019.
