Career
Aastha Sharma was in college when she got the opportunity to act in the show “Swaran Ghar,” where she played the role of young Swaran. At the time, she was confused about her career path, having switched from being a Humanities scholar to pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. However, acting came into her life unexpectedly.
She did her first show while still in college and then decided not to continue her studies further, choosing to focus solely on acting. She convinced her supportive parents, and despite the challenges of moving to Mumbai, having her father with her made it easier.
The casting director of “Swaran Ghar” saw Aastha’s reel on Instagram and thought she was perfect for the role. After requesting a monologue from her, which she loved, the director asked Aastha to join the shoot the very next day. Social media played a significant role in helping her land her first television role, even though she didn’t have many followers.
Aastha didn’t watch much television herself, although her mother was very fond of TV serials. While she didn’t dislike Indian shows, she preferred engaging in other activities while her family watched television.
