Kiran Dubey, formerly known as Smita Dubey, hails from Gorakhpur and is recognized as an Indian television and film actress. She gained prominence for her supporting roles in popular Hindi soap operas like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, and Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na.
Growing up in Dehradun, Kiran participated in beauty pageants while attending college in Pune. In 1994, she contested for the title of Miss Pune before venturing into television. Her debut on the small screen happened with the Zee TV series Sansar in 2001. Kiran is a graduate of Fergusson College in Pune and follows the teachings of Osho. In 2009, she took a break from mainstream Indian television and pursued studies at the New York Film Academy. However, she returned to television in 2013 to reprise her role in the show Jet Set Go.
Beyond television, Kiran ventured into filmmaking and co-produced the docu-mystery film “Where Is She Now?” in 2015. The film received critical acclaim, earning her recognition as a co-producer at the World Music & Independent Film Festival in 2016. She also won the Best Actress award at the Hollywood Film Competition in 2017 for her performance in the film. Additionally, Kiran was nominated as a supporting actress and producer for the film at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in 2017.
