Gurcharan Singh began his career in the world of modeling, initially appearing in various print ads featured in publications like ‘Season of India’ and ‘Bulletins.’ In 2007, he made his way to Mumbai, aspiring to delve into acting. His efforts paid off in 2008 when he secured the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular television series ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.’

In TMKOC, he has worked with notable television personalities such as  Disha Vakani, Shailesh Lodha, Munmun Dutta, Dilip Joshi, Amit Bhatt, Neha Mehta, Mandar Chandwadkar, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, Kavi Kumar Azad, Bhavya Gandhi, Tanuj Mahashabde, Sonalika Joshi, Priya Ahuja, Kush Shah, Shyam Pathak, Samay Shah & Ambika Ranjankar.

Controversy

In a recent interview, Gurcharan Singh shared the reasons behind his departure from the show, “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” in 2013. At that time, he had left suddenly, and the exact reason was not made clear. Despite this, he returned to the show after being requested by the audience.

However, in 2020, he bid farewell to the show once again, referring to it as “Tata Bye Bye.” Since then, Gurcharan Singh has not been seen in any other television shows, seemingly disappearing from the small screen. In the interview, he disclosed that his departure in 2013 was due to his father needing surgery, which prompted him to take a break from the show
