Career
Damini Bhatla began her journey in the music world during her childhood by participating in reality singing shows. She took part in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs (Telugu) in 2008 and won the Padutha Theeyaga show in 2011. Her talent led her to perform at various events, including religious congregations and award shows.
In 2015, Damini formed a music band called Classically Mild and performed at numerous shows. Three years later, in April 2018, she participated in the Berklee India Exchange Bootcamp.
Damini’s career as a playback singer took off when she sang for the Malayalam film London Bridge in 2014. The following year, she gained fame for her song “Pacha Bottasi” in the Telugu film Baahubali: The Beginning. This opportunity arose after being spotted at a local singing show by the renowned music composer M. M. Keeravani, who invited her to audition at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. In 2022, she sang the hit song “Blast Baby” for the film The Godfather.
Transitioning into an independent singer and songwriter, Damini released her first album titled First Things First in July 2020. The album featured three songs: “Sweet Nothings,” “Solitude Tales,” and “Fly High.” She continued to release music, including the songs “Twilight/Raathire” in 2022 and “Love wasn’t Enough” in 2023.
In addition to her music career, Damini ventured into acting by participating as a contestant in season 7 of Bigg Boss Telugu in 2023, which airs on the Star Maa channel.
In February 2021, Damini expanded her creative pursuits by starting a fashion brand named Murch Better. This brand partners with independent artists to offer designer clothing and accessories, and it also includes her passion for pottery, selling mugs and accessories.
