Singh’s musical journey began when his mentor Rajendra Prasad Hazari urged him to leave his hometown and join the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005 at the age of 18. Despite being eliminated, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali recognized his talent and offered him a song in his film Saawariya, which unfortunately didn’t make it to the final cut. After this setback, Singh signed with Tips but his album never got released.

He won another reality show, which prompted him to move to Mumbai in 2006 to pursue a career in music.
