Ajith began his acting journey with a small role in the 1990 film “En Veedu En Kanavar.” However, it was in 1993 that he got his first lead role in the Telugu film “Prema Pusthakam,” recommended by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. Unfortunately, the film was halted due to the director’s death. Ajith’s Tamil debut came with “Amaravathi” in the same year, but he faced a setback due to a racing injury during its production.

After a series of surgeries and a period of recovery, Ajith returned to films in supporting roles. His breakthrough came with the 1995 romantic thriller “Aasai,” which established him as a lead actor. This was followed by successes like “Kalloori Vaasal” and “Kadhal Kottai,” showcasing his versatility.

In 1998, Ajith’s career gained momentum with hits like “Kaadhal Mannan” and “Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen.” He continued to deliver successes in the late 1990s with films like “Vaali” and “Amarkalam,” which earned him critical acclaim.
