Career

In 2000, Abhishek Bachchan made his film debut alongside Kareena Kapoor in the war drama Refugee, directed by J. P. Dutta. Bachchan’s next films, Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa and Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, didn’t do well commercially. In 2001, he appeared in Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, which failed to attract a wide audience. He also had a cameo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, although the scene was later edited out.

The following year, in 2002, Bachchan starred in several films including Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, Desh, Shararat, and Om Jai Jagadish, but none of them performed well at the box office.
