Career
While studying at Delhi University, Minissha Lamba began modeling for ad campaigns for brands like LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, and Sunsilk. She was also featured in Femina’s Generation “W” advertisement. During an ad shoot for Cadbury, she was approached by Bollywood director Shoojit Sircar, who signed her for his film “Yahaan” (2005). Minissha started filming for “Yahaan” while still attending Miranda House college.
After “Yahaan,” she transitioned to supporting and then leading roles in various films, including “Corporate,” “Rocky: The Rebel,” “Anthony Kaun Hai,” “Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.,” “Anamika,” “Shaurya,” and “Dus Kahaniyaan.” In 2008, she achieved significant success with “Bachna Ae Haseeno,” produced by Yash Raj Films. That same year, she gained attention for her role in Sanjay Gadhvi’s “Kidnap.”
Her next major role was in Shyam Benegal’s critically acclaimed film “Well Done Abba” (2010), where her performance as Muskaan Ali was well-received. The film won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues for 2010. In 2014, Minissha participated in Colors TV’s “Bigg Boss 8” and was evicted after six weeks on November 2, 2014 (Day 42).
One of her last appearances was in the film “Double Di Trouble,” alongside Dharmendra, Gippy Grewal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Kulraj Randhawa, and Poonam Dhillon. She also appeared in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya’s song “Tera Surroor” from the album “Aap Kaa Surroor,” which became very popular.
