Career
Spruha Joshi began her acting career in 2004 with a role in the drama film “Maay Baap” as a teenage classical music student. She then took a break from films to focus on completing her graduation. During her college days at Ramnarain Ruia College, she participated in numerous plays like “GaMaBhaNa,” “Yugmak,” and others.
Her first notable television role was as Uma Band in “Agnihotra” from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, she appeared in the film “Morya” and the TV show “Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta” as Kuhu. The following year, she portrayed the lead role of Ramabai Ranade in “Unch Majha Zoka” and also appeared in the Marathi serial “De Dhamal” on Zee Marathi.
In 2013, Spruha starred as Advocate Isha Deshmukh in “Eka Lagnachi Tisri Goshta” and appeared in the film “A Paying Ghost” alongside Umesh Kamat. She then appeared in “Bioscope” in 2015, which consisted of four short films based on poems by well-known poets.
In addition to acting, Spruha also writes poems and lyrics for Marathi albums and movies. She continued her acting career with films like “Lost and Found” in 2016, “Mala Kahich Problem Nahi” in 2017, and “Deva Ek Atrangee” in 2018.
She expanded her presence on television by hosting “Kitchenchi Superstar” in 2015 and later became the anchor of Colors Marathi’s musical program “Sur Nava Dhyas Nava” from 2018 to 2022. In 2019, Spruha appeared in the Marathi thriller film “Vicky Velingkar” as Vidya. She also ventured into web series with a role in “The Office” on ZEE5 originals.
Her recent works include roles in TV shows like “Lokmanya” and “Sukh Kalale,” both in 2024. Additionally, she has been involved in theatre productions and has worked as a lyricist for songs in films like “Baavre Prem He” and “Lost and Found.”
