Career
Khan began her acting journey with her debut in the Bollywood film Dil Maange More!!! in 2004. She then ventured into Bengali cinema with the film Antar Mahal in 2005.
In 2006, she gained acclaim for her role in the Bollywood hit Rang De Basanti, earning her the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Following her success, Khan appeared in Khoya Khoya Chand and the 2009 film 99. She then starred opposite Emraan Hashmi in Tum Mile. Khan expanded her career by hosting the game show Godrej Khelo Jeeto Jiyo. She also featured in the film Mr Joe B. Carvalho.
In 2017, Khan released her debut book, The Perils of Being Moderately Famous, offering humorous anecdotes about her life as a royal princess. The same year, she acted in the short film Soundproof, directed by Aditya Kelgaonkar.
The film received recognition at various film festivals, winning awards at the New York Indian Film Festival, Indian Film Festival of Houston, Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards, International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, and Belgaum International Short Film Festival.
