Career

Mishra began his career with commercials and minor movie roles. In 1991, he landed his first television series, “Chanakya,” where he reportedly took 28 takes on his first day of shooting. His first movie appearance was in “Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India!” in 1995.

Transitioning to television, Mishra acted in notable series like “Office Office” where he portrayed the role of Shukla, a corrupt employee. He continued to work in TV serials until 2005, gaining recognition for his roles in “Bunty Aur Babli” and “Apna Sapna Money Money.”

In 2006, he gained fame with back-to-back hits “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited” and “Dhamaal.” Over the years, he appeared in various multi-starrer films before achieving nationwide popularity with roles in “All the Best: Fun Begins” and “Phas Gaye Re Obama.”

In 2014, he received critical acclaim for his role as Bauji in “Ankhon Dekhi,” winning the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. His comic timing in “All the Best” and serious portrayal in “Ankhon Dekhi” showcased his versatility.

Mishra continued to deliver notable performances in films like “Bhoothnath Returns,” “Kick,” and “Dum Laga Ke Haisha.” He also ventured into regional cinema, acting in Telugu, Bhojpuri, and Punjabi films.
