Career
She began her acting journey in 2005 with a role in the low-budget adult Hindi film “Yehi Hai High Society”. Following this, she appeared in various television commercials.
In 2008, Khan made her Tamil film debut with “Silambattam”, where she played the female lead role of Janu. Her performance earned her praise and she won the 2009 ITFA Best New Actress Award in Singapore.
In 2010, she ventured into Telugu cinema with “Kalyanram Kathi” and continued her Tamil film journey with “Thambikku Indha Ooru”. The following year, she appeared in the bilingual thriller “Gaganam / Payanam”.
Expanding her horizons, Khan entered the Kannada film industry in 2011 with “Kool…Sakkath Hot Maga” and continued her Tamil film streak with “Aayiram Vilakku”. She also made her Malayalam debut with “Climax”, where she portrayed the role of Silk Smitha, a South Indian actress.
Her Bollywood journey kicked off with the film “Jai Ho” in 2014, where she played the daughter of the main antagonist. She further appeared in “Wajah Tum Ho” and made a special appearance in “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”. Additionally, she featured in “Tom, Dick and Harry 2”.
Khan has been actively involved in TV commercials, starring in over 50 ad films. One of her commercials for the men’s underwear brand Amul Macho stirred controversy and was banned by the Indian government. However, this didn’t deter her, and the company later rehired her for a sequel commercial.
In 2012, she participated as a celebrity contestant in the sixth season of the reality TV show “Bigg Boss”, where she gained significant popularity and finished in third place.
Besides her acting career, Khan has ventured into business, founding “Face Spa by Sana Khan” and “Haya By Sana Khan”. She also co-owns the “Hayat Welfare Foundation” with her husband, Anas Sayed.
