Career

Sakshi Tanwar began her television journey in 1996 as the host of DD National’s reality show “Albela Sur Mela.” Following this, she starred in the TV serial “Dastoor.” However, her breakthrough came with the role of “Parvati Agarwal” in the immensely popular TV series “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.” Her portrayal of Parvati made her a household name, and the show ran for a remarkable 8 years.

After her success in “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,” Tanwar appeared in several other TV serials including “Kutumb,” “Devi,” “Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin,” and “Balika Vadhu.” In 2011, she took on the role of ‘Priya Ram Kapoor’ in Sony TV’s “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.” Tanwar also ventured into hosting and narration, featuring in shows like “Main Naa Bhoolungi,” “Crime Patrol Season 2,” “Code Red,” and “Tyohaar Ki Thaali.”

Her Bollywood debut came in 2016 with the film “Dangal,” where she portrayed the character of ‘Daya Kaur.’ Subsequently, she appeared in other films such as “O re Manva,” “Saluun,” “Aatankwadi Uncle,” and “Bawra Mann.”
