Sakshi Agarwal, a native of Nainital, studied at Good Shepherd Convent in Chennai and completed her bachelor’s degree in information technology at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering. She then earned an MBA from the Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship. Beginning her career as a marketing consultant, she worked with Tata Consultancy Services and later Infosys in 2010.

Her career took a turn after participating in a charity fashion show for a friend, where she was noticed by a modeling recruiter who introduced her to advertisement directors. Sakshi started taking commercial assignments during weekends, appearing as a model in print, television, and fashion shows. Notably, she appeared in an advertisement for Malabar Gold alongside Suriya. She decided to leave her job at Infosys in January 2013 to pursue acting full-time.

To prepare for her new career, Sakshi starred in a video album titled Jillinu Oru Kalavaram, learned dance from Shiamak Davar, and honed her acting skills with the Ratan Thakore Theatre Group. She sought acting opportunities in Tamil and Kannada film industries and secured her first film projects in early 2013.

She was first cast in a Kannada film titled Heddari, directed by Tejaswi, and completed filming by August 2013. Her first release, however, was a Tamil tele-film titled No Parking. Her first theatrical release came with a small role in Atlee’s Raja Rani (2013). Despite some setbacks with unreleased films like Heddari and Karaab Story, her first leading role was in the Kannada comedy-drama Software Ganda (2014), where she played an office worker.

In the following years, Sakshi appeared in several low-budget Tamil films. In Ka Ka Ka Po, she featured in a song where she dressed in nine different avatars. In Adhyan, she portrayed a fashion student. She was also involved in unreleased projects like Jeyikkira Kuthira and Brahma.com, the latter of which she opted out of.

In early 2017, Sakshi undertook a three-week intensive course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and was involved in an indie English film titled Cherubs. She then appeared in Pa. Ranjith’s Kaala (2018) as the Hindi-speaking daughter-in-law of Rajinikanth’s character. Her performance required her to audition three times. Following this, she made her debut in the Malayalam film industry with Orayiram Kinakkalal (2018), where she played the caring wife of Biju Menon’s character.

In 2021, Sakshi starred in Vinoo Venkatesh’s horror-thriller Cinderella, which received positive reviews. She also appeared in Aranmanai 3 alongside Sundar C., which received mixed reviews. In 2019, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil 3 on Star Vijay and was evicted on Day 49. Sakshi is also part of the film Bagheera, starring Prabhu Deva, where she acts alongside Gopinath Ravi.
