Career
Rohan Vinod Mehra’s journey began with a unique family background. Born to the late Bollywood actor Vinod Mehra, Rohan faced the unfortunate circumstance of never meeting his father, who had passed away eight months before Rohan’s birth. Following his father’s demise, Rohan, along with his family, relocated to Kenya, where they resided with his maternal grandparents.
Growing up, Rohan’s elder sister, Soniya Mehra, also ventured into Bollywood, appearing in films like ‘Victoria No. 203’ (2007) and ‘Ragini MMS 2’ (2014). After completing a double degree in the United Kingdom, Rohan realized that a desk job wasn’t for him. Inspired by his father’s legacy, he decided to pursue acting and moved to Mumbai in 2012.
Initially, he honed his skills by attending acting workshops and assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the set of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015). He also underwent training with Nikkhil Advani’s production company, ‘Emmay Entertainment,’ where he learned acting, martial arts, and dance over a span of 18 months.
Despite facing initial rejections, Rohan persisted in pursuing his acting dreams. He auditioned for various roles, including one in a film by Nikkhil Advani, although the project never materialized. However, Rohan’s determination paid off when he secured a role in Nikkhil Advani’s ‘Baazaar’ (2018) after persistent requests.
In addition to his acting pursuits, Rohan explored other creative endeavors. He wrote and directed a short film titled ‘Afterword’ (2013) and showcased his talents as a photographer and guitarist. In 2018, Rohan ventured into the world of advertising, featuring in his first commercial for the ‘Oppo’ smartphone alongside Deepika Padukone.
