Career
Ravi Kishan began his acting career in the 1990s with films like “Pitambar,” “Zakhmi Dil,” and “Aag Aur Chingari” in Hindi cinema. In 1999, he made his Tamil film debut with “Monisha En Monalisa.” Throughout the early 2000s, he appeared in various Hindi and Bhojpuri films, gaining recognition for his versatile performances.
In 2008, Ravi Kishan ventured into hosting reality shows, including “Bathroom Singer,” “Naman: Ek Sansani,” and “Ek Se Badhkar Ek – Jalwe Sitaron Ke.” He also hosted “Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka,” a reality show focused on exploring past lives, for two seasons on NDTV Imagine.
Ravi Kishan made his South Indian debut with the Telugu film “Race Gurram” in 2014, followed by his Kannada debut in “Hebbuli” in 2017. He also appeared in Tamil films like “Monisha En Monalisa” in 1999 and “Sangathamizhan” in 2019.
In the political arena, Ravi Kishan joined the Indian National Congress (INC) and contested the 2014 general elections from the Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. However, he later switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in February 2017. In the 2019 general elections, he contested from Gorakhpur constituency and emerged victorious.
Ravi Kishan’s contributions extend beyond acting and politics. He dubbed Tobey Maguire’s role as Spider-Man in “Spider-Man 3” into Bhojpuri, making it the first Hollywood film to receive a Bhojpuri dub.
In addition to his film and television career, Ravi Kishan has also ventured into web series. He appeared in popular series like “Rangbaaz” in 2018 and “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter” in 2022.
