Ramya’s journey into acting began when she collaborated with Mani Ratnam’s assistant director, Shelley, on a short film titled “Maane Theyne Ponmaane.” Although she initially landed a role in Balaji Sakthivel’s “Ra Ra Rajasekhar,” the film didn’t materialize at that time. However, she made her acting debut in the low-budget film “Dummy Tappasu” in 2015.

Subsequently, the team of “Ra Ra Rajasekhar” recommended her to director Raju Murugan, who cast her in “Joker” (2016), where she portrayed the role of a village belle. Ramya’s performance in “Joker” received appreciation from director Samuthirakani, who offered her a role in “Aan Devathai” (2018) as a mother balancing her career at an IT company while raising two children. Critics praised her portrayal of a struggling mother in the film.

Aside from her film roles, Ramya Pandian appeared as a contestant on the cooking show “Cooku with Comali” and later served as a judge on the comedy television show “Kalakka Povathu Yaaru.” She emerged as the second runner-up on “Cooku with Comali” and gained further recognition as a contestant on the reality show “Bigg Boss Tamil” in 2020, where she reached the finals and finished as the 2nd Runner-Up.

In addition to her television appearances, Ramya played the female lead in the web series “Mugilan,” which premiered on ZEE5 in October 2020. She has upcoming projects, including a film produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and another film produced by C. V. Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment.
