Priya Anand’s journey in the film industry began with her acting debut in the Tamil film “Vaamanan,” directed by Ahmed. Initially, she was set to debut in “Pugaippadam,” but its release got delayed until 2010. “Vaamanan” featured hit music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, notably the song “Aedho Saigirai,” which garnered attention and made Priya popular among Tamil audiences.
In 2010, Priya appeared in three films. The first was “Pugaippadam,” a college-life drama, followed by her debut Telugu film, “Leader,” directed by Sekhar Kammula. She portrayed Ratna Prabha, a television reporter, in this political drama. Her third release that year was “Rama Rama Krishna Krishna,” a family entertainer.
In 2011, Priya starred in the bilingual Tamil-Telugu film “180,” directed by Jayendra. Her Bollywood debut came in 2012 with “English Vinglish,” produced by R Balki, where she acted alongside Sridevi. Priya also appeared in the Telugu film “Ko Antey Koti” the same year.
