Kishwar Merchant, born into an Ismaili (Khoja) family in Mumbai to Siraj Merchant and Rizwana Merchant, began her career in 1997 with a role in the TV show “Shaktimaan,” where she portrayed Julia, an assistant. Following this, she gained recognition for her role as Nonie in the popular series “Hip Hip Hurray” from 1998 to 2000. She went on to appear in numerous successful shows such as “Babul Ki Duwayen Leti Jaa,” “Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand,” “Kutumb,” and “Kasautii Zindagii Kay.”
Kishwar Merchant became well-known for her roles in various Balaji Telefilms productions, including “Kkavyanjali” and “Kasamh Se.” In 2007, she played the positive character of Tamanna in the youth-oriented series “Miley Jab Hum Tum” alongside Sanaya Irani and Arjun Bijlani. She gained further popularity for her portrayal of Haseena in “Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani” alongside Sukirti Kandpal and Vivian Dsena. Additionally, she portrayed Sonia in the second season of “Chhoti Bahu.”
