Early Life

Bohra was born on 28 August 1982 in Jodhpur to a family of Pushkarana Brahmins. His father, Mahendra Bohra, is a filmmaker, and his grandfather, Ramkumar Bohra, was an actor-producer. Sunil Bohra, a producer, is his first cousin. He has two sisters named Meenakshi and Shivangi. Bohra attended G D Somani Memorial School in Cuffe Parade.

During his childhood, he wasn’t very interested in academics or sports. He started his junior college at Elphinstone College in Mumbai, studying science, but left school in twelfth grade. Later, he joined Sydenham College in Churchgate, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Bohra also took Kathak dance lessons for two years under Pandit Veeru Krishnan.

Career

Bohra’s journey in the entertainment world began at a young age, making his first appearance as a child artist in the movie Tejaa (1990). He stepped into television with his role as Kabir in Just Mohabbat, and later, he worked as an assistant on detective series like C.I.D and Achanak 37 Saal Baad.

His big break came with Ronnie Screwvala’s Shararat, where he played the lead role of Dhruv. Bohra also had small roles in shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kkusum. In 2005, he joined Kasautii Zindagii Kay as Prem Basu but left in 2007 to focus on his Bollywood career.

Bohra explored the reality TV scene by hosting Ek Se Badhkar Ek and participating in dance shows like Nach Baliye 4 and Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar with his wife Teejay Sidhu. He made a cameo in the film Kismat Konnection in 2008.

His television comeback happened in 2011 with Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava?, where he portrayed Viraj Dobriyal, a character with a unique personality. Alongside, he took part in food reality show Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki and dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6.

Bohra ventured into regional cinema with the Punjabi film Love Yoou Soniye in 2013, produced by him and his wife. He also appeared in the Telugu film Mumbai 125 KM in the same year. In 2014, he hosted the documentary show Gumrah: End of Innocence 4.

The actor continued his television journey with roles in Qubool Hai and Naagin 2. In 2018, he entered the Bigg Boss 12 house and secured the fifth position. In 2019, Bohra featured in the film Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna.

2020 marked his digital debut in the Zee5 series The Casino. He later appeared in the web series Bhanwar and made his directorial debut. In 2022, he participated in the web reality show Lock Upp, sharing personal and professional revelations before being eliminated on Day 52.

Bohra continued to make strides in television in 2023, playing Samar Ahluwalia Barot in Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum. Later in the same year, he reprised his role as Viraj Dobriyal in Saubhagyavati Bhava: * Niyam Aur Shartein Laagu.
