Career

Khan was born in a Muslim family in Deoband, a town in the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1975. He is the father of two children, a son and a daughter. A businessman, he ventured into the Indian film industry during the 2000s, starting as a producer and writer for films, and has also appeared in supporting roles. His early works include the Hindi romance-drama Sitam (2005), directed by Partho Ghosh, and the Bhojpuri films Tu Hamaar Hou (2006) and Munna Pandey Berozgaar (2007).

In 2008, Khan played his first leading role in the crime-thriller Desh Drohi, a film he also wrote and produced. The film, dealing with organized crime in India, received negative reviews and was banned by the Maharashtra state government due to concerns over its depiction of the 2008 attacks on migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in Maharashtra. The ban was eventually lifted by the Bombay High Court.

Following Desh Drohi, Khan worked on Jimmy (2008), another crime film directed by Raj N. Sippy, which he also wrote and produced. He is best known for his supporting role in the 2014 film Ek Villain, where he played the best friend of the titular serial killer. This role earned him the Worst Supporting Actor award at the 2015 Ghanta Awards.

In 2009, Khan appeared in the third season of the reality show Bigg Boss, and in 2015, he participated in the stand-up comedy show Comedy Nights Bachao. Beyond films and television, he has also starred in music videos, including “Tum Meri Ho” (2019), which he produced and wrote the lyrics for.

Khan has since become a YouTuber, posting film reviews and box office analyses, which often target Indian celebrities and have attracted controversy. In 2021, Indian singer Mika Singh released a diss track against him titled “#krkkutta: Barking Dog – Mika Singh.”

Khan ran as a candidate in the 2014 Indian general election for the Lok Sabha from the Samajwadi Party. He later quit the party due to differences with Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi’s son, Farhan Azmi, and contested as an independent politician but did not win. He also has business interests in Dubai.

Since 2008, Khan has been at the center of numerous controversies. In 2021, Mumbai courts issued injunctions to restrict him from posting defamatory content against actor Salman Khan and producers Nikhil Dwivedi and Vashu Bhagnani. In 2022, he was arrested by the Mumbai Police for complaints filed by Yuva Sena politician Rahul Kanal regarding his 2020 tweets against the film Laxmii and director Ram Gopal Varma. After nine days in judicial custody, Khan was granted bail.

In March 2023, actor Manoj Bajpayee filed a defamation case against Khan for derogatory remarks made on Twitter in 2021, calling Bajpayee a “drug addict.” Khan was summoned by the Indore district court and an arrest warrant was issued when he failed to appear.
