Career
Hope Olaidé Wilson was born in the UK and grew up between London and Lagos. Trained at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, she has an extensive background in on-screen performance. Her credits include roles in various productions such as “Spenser Confidential” on NETFLIX, “Solace” on Showtime, “The Affair” on Showtime, “After the Dark” on Netflix, “The Price” by Samuel Goldwyn Films at SXSW, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” by Lionsgate, “The Fosters” on FreeForm, and “The Last Ship” on TNT.
In addition to acting, Wilson is a multimedia creative and full-stack software engineer. She is also the founder of Indigo Veil Media. As a recipient of the ‘Made in NY’ Media Center Incubator Fellowship, she wrote, directed, and produced four short films for an award-winning anthology project called “Owls & Echoes.” The project was selected for The Gotham’s Screen Forward Lab (formerly IFP). Wilson was also awarded the inaugural JJLA Octavia Butler Fellowship for literary fiction. She has been a finalist for the Sundance Episodic Lab and the Stowe Story Labs/Tangerine Entertainment Screenwriting Fellowship.
Wilson is producing “Fractal,” a project written and directed by Anslem Richardson, which is well into post-production. She is also actively involved in teaching and directing projects for Long Island University’s graduate screenwriting and production program. She has directed projects for the graduating classes of 2022 and 2023, and the MFA graduate production she is overseeing is a half-hour pilot titled “Solo Act,” set to screen in May 2023.
Looking ahead, Wilson is set to direct and produce “Simulacrum,” a science fiction drama. She divides her time between Germany and New York City, where she continues to pursue her creative endeavors.
