Career
Anushka Shetty, originally known as Sweety, began her acting career with the film Super in 2005, directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Nagarjuna. To make her name more appealing to the audience, they chose the screen name Anushka, inspired by singer Anushka Manchanda. In Super, she appeared alongside Nagarjuna and Ayesha Takia. Following her debut, she starred in Maha Nandi the same year.
In 2006, Anushka had four releases, including Vikramarkudu and Astram. She made her Tamil film debut with Rendu, directed by Sundar C., and a special appearance in A. R. Murugadoss’ Telugu film Stalin.
The year 2007 saw Anushka in Lakshyam and Don, both successful ventures. In 2008, she appeared in six films, including Okka Magaadu, Swagatam, and Souryam, which was a box office hit.
Anushka’s career took a significant turn in 2009 with the release of the fantasy film Arundhati, where she portrayed dual roles. The film was a blockbuster hit, earning her critical acclaim and awards. She also appeared in Billa and Vettaikkaran this year.

In 2015, Anushka appeared in Rudhramadevi and Size Zero, receiving acclaim for her performances. She continued to impress with roles in Si3, Om Namo Venkatesaya, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
In 2018, Anushka delivered a notable performance in the horror thriller Bhaagamathie, earning her critical acclaim. As of May 2021, she signed a new film under the UV Creations banner, continuing her successful journey in the film industry.
