Debojit Saha’s journey in the music industry began with his participation in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005, where he was placed in Ismail Darbar’s “Yalgaar Ho Gharana.” On February 24, 2006, Saha was declared the winner of the competition, earning the title “Voice of India.” His victory was largely driven by popular votes, with significant support from organizations such as the All Assam Students Union, the North East Students’ Union, the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha, and the Hindu Chatra Parishad, which campaigned extensively in the Northeast states of India to garner votes for him.
Following his success in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Saha ventured into television reality shows. He was one of the 14 contestants in the second season of Bigg Boss, a popular reality TV show. He also participated in STAR Plus’s reality show Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star, where his talent was highly appreciated by the music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar, though he was eventually voted out. Additionally, Saha was a participant in STAR Plus’s show Music Ka Maha Muqqabla, where he was part of Team Shaan’s Strikers.
