Bhanupriya emerged as one of the leading actresses in mainstream cinema from 1983 to 1995. She began her acting journey with the Tamil film “Mella Pesungal” in 1983. Following this, she gained recognition with her role in the Telugu hit “Sitaara”, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.

In 1985, Bhanupriya portrayed an ornithologist in the mystery film “Anveshana”. Her performance garnered attention and added to her growing reputation in the industry.

Expanding her horizons, Bhanupriya made her Hindi film debut in 1986 with “Dosti Dushmani”. This marked her entry into the Hindi film industry, further diversifying her acting career.

The year 1988 saw Bhanupriya’s notable appearance in “Swarnakamalam”, which received recognition at prestigious film festivals like the International Film Festival of India and the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
