Career
In 2012, Bai Lu took part in an overseas audition held by SM Entertainment but did not succeed. In 2015, she starred in a short film for a literary magazine and later appeared on its cover. She then ventured into acting, featuring in the short film “Meeting You Is Such a Good Thing,” produced by Cat’s Tree Studio.
In 2016, Bai Lu signed with Yu Zheng’s entertainment company, Huanyu Film, and appeared in Rover Lu’s music video for “Liu Yan: Message.” She also acted in the television series Zhaoge, portraying a noble lady.
In 2017, Bai Lu starred as the lead in the historical comedy series King Is Not Easy and also played the lead role in the fantasy drama The Monkey King: Land of Beauty.
The following year, in 2018, Bai Lu starred in the historical romance drama Untouchable Lovers, portraying dual roles as the general Hou Xuan and a prince’s concubine, “Le Yun.” She received the “Best Newcomer Award” at the iQiyi All-Star Carnival for her performance.
From 2019 onwards, Bai Lu’s popularity soared. She starred as “Lu Zhaoyao” in the xianxia drama The Legends alongside Xu Kai and received acclaim for her fearless portrayal. She also starred in the youth military-based series Arsenal Military Academy and the romance comedy series Lucky’s First Love.
In 2020, Bai Lu starred as “Jiang Jun” in the workplace romance series Love Is Sweet alongside Luo Yunxi and as “Long Aoyi” in the historical romance series Jiu Liu Overlord.
In 2021, Bai Lu starred as “Cui Shiyi” in the Chinese period romantic series One and Only alongside Ren Jialun, which gained significant popularity. A sequel, Forever and Ever, was made due to its success, where she played “Shi Yi.”
In 2022, Bai Lu starred in the police series Ordinary Greatness as “Xia Jie” and later as “Li Susu” in the historical fantasy series Till the End of the Moon. In 2023, she portrayed “Jiang Xuening” in the historical drama Story of Kunning Palace, which became immensely popular and set records online.
