Career

Arshi Khan began her journey in the entertainment industry with roles in India’s first mainline Bollywood 4D historical action film, “The Last Emperor,” and the Tamil film “Malli Mishtu.” In 2017, she appeared as a contestant on the reality television show Bigg Boss 11, after being considered for participation in previous seasons. During her time on the show, she gained significant popularity and was ranked as Google India’s second-most searched entertainer of 2017.

Following her stint on Bigg Boss 11, Arshi Khan resigned from the Indian National Congress due to professional commitments. In 2018, she featured in a Punjabi music video titled “Nakhre” and has also appeared in several other music videos, including “Bandi” and “Nain Nasheele,” which garnered millions of views on YouTube.

Arshi returned to the Bigg Boss house as a participant in Bigg Boss 14, where she joined as one of the four challenger participants. In 2021, she joined The Great Khali’s wrestling school CWE, further expanding her career endeavors.

Controversy

In September 2015, Arshi Khan claimed to be in a relationship with Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi. During the same year, she made controversial statements alleging that self-proclaimed spiritual leader Radhe Maa ran a prostitution ring and claimed she was approached to join it.

In 2016, a mufti from a madrassa in Pakistan issued a fatwa against Khan after she posted pictures on Facebook. One showed her wearing a bikini with a hijab, while another showed her in a burkha. Her Facebook account was subsequently blocked due to these posts.

During her time in the Bigg Boss house, an arrest warrant was issued against Khan by a court in Jalandhar. Actress-model Gehana Vasisth claimed that Khan had been dishonest about her age, qualifications, and relationship with Shahid Afridi, alleging she was married to a 50-year-old man.

In 2018, Khan claimed she was removed from Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi at the behest of Vikas Gupta. Fans drew comparisons between her situation and a previous controversy involving Shilpa Shinde and the referenced producer.
