Career
In 2007, Monica Dogra received a significant opportunity when music composers Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy offered her the chance to sing the track “Dhoka” from the movie Johnny Gaddaar. This opportunity came after they listened to an album she had previously appeared on. Since then, Dogra has collaborated with the trio on about six albums. One of her notable contributions was singing and writing the track “Dil Mein Jaagi” from the movie Dev.D, which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.
Later, Dogra appeared on the TV show MTV Angels of Rock, where she starred alongside singers Shalmali Kholgade, Jasmine Sandlas, and Akasa Singh. The show provided a platform for female artists to showcase their talent and collaborate on musical projects.
