Amy Louise Jackson was born in Douglas on 31 January 1992. Her parents, Marguerita and Alan Jackson, were originally from Liverpool. Amy has an older sister named Alicia, who works as a teacher. When Amy was just two years old, her family moved back to Liverpool, settling in the suburb of Woolton. This move was to support her father’s career with BBC Radio Merseyside. Unfortunately, her parents later went through a divorce.

Amy attended St Edward’s College in West Derby, where she had plans to pursue A-Levels in English literature, philosophy, and ethics. However, her life took a different turn when she was cast in her first film.

Starting her modeling career with Boss Model Management in the North, Amy later signed with Models 1 in London. In 2010, she won the title of Miss Liverpool and competed for Miss England, finishing as the runner-up.

Amy’s entry into the film industry came unexpectedly when Indian producers discovered her through the Miss Teen World website. Despite having no prior acting experience, she was cast as the lead in the Tamil period-drama film Madrasapattinam (2010). The film, set in 1947 India, received praise for Amy’s performance, marking a successful debut.

In 2011, she ventured into Hindi cinema with Ekk Deewana Tha (2012), earning acclaim for her role alongside Prateik Babbar. Amy returned to Tamil cinema with Thaandavam (2012), showcasing her versatility.

Amy’s Telugu debut came in Yevadu (2014), followed by her role as supermodel Diya in Shankar’s I (2015), a significant project in her career.

Her journey continued with Singh Is Bliing (2015) with Akshay Kumar, Thanga Magan (2015), Gethu (2016), and Theri (2016). In 2017, Amy entered Hollywood with her role as Imra Ardeen, aka Saturn Girl, in Supergirl’s third season.

Amy explored Kannada cinema with The Villain (2018) and played the andro-humanoid robot Nila in Shankar’s 2.0 (2018). After a hiatus, she returned to the big screen with Mission: Chapter 1.
