Career

Vidya Iyer is known for her regular performances in a band organized by Tucker, where she collaborates with percussionist Jomy George. Together, they have performed at various prestigious venues worldwide, including the White House, National Centre for the Performing Arts (India), and Webster Hall. Additionally, they have showcased their talent at Festivals Des Artes on Réunion, for INK Women, in Suriname, in Dubai, UAE, and at the Meru Concert Series in the Netherlands.

One of Vidya’s most popular mashups is “Closer / Kabira”, blending the songs Closer by Chainsmokers and Kabira from the Bollywood film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. This mashup gained immense popularity, amassing over 55 million views in just seven months. Another notable mashup is “Lean On” and “Jind Mahi”, a collaboration with several other musicians, including Ricky Jatt, Raashi Kulkarni, and Roginder “Violinder” Momi.

In addition to mashups, Vidya released “Kuttanadan Punjayile”, a fusion of the famous Kerala boat song, paired with an English song co-written by Tucker and herself. The music video was shot in Kerala, featuring Mohiniyattam performed by Sreenidhi and Sreedevi.
