Career
Sharma began her acting career by portraying Nishi Khanna Shah in “Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar” from 2014 to 2015, opposite Mehul Vyas. In 2014, she also played Priyanka “Priya” Prabhakar Datar in “Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hai.” The following year, she portrayed Chandini Kapoor opposite Darsheel Safary in “Yeh Hai Aashiqui Sun Yaar Try Maar.”
In 2016, Sharma played Shubhi Deshpande in “Yeh Hai Aashiqui” opposite Kinshuk Vaidya. Later that year, she portrayed Gauri Shukla in “Kahani Hamari… Dil Dosti Deewanepan Ki” opposite Karan Wahi. The show ended a month later. Sharma made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with Neeraj Pandey’s “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story,” where she played Ritu, a friend of Dhoni’s wife. The film starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Kiara Advani.
From 2017 to 2018, Sharma played Dr. Kanak Rathi Toshniwal in “Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh, Piyaji” opposite Avinesh Rekhi, a role that proved to be a major turning point in her career. Her performance earned her a nomination for the Gold Award for Debut in a Lead Role (Female).
In 2018, she portrayed Komal Mishra in “Laal Ishq” opposite Ruslaan Mumtaz and appeared as Anjali Sharma in “Kumkum Bhagya” opposite Vishal Singh. Sharma achieved further success with her portrayal of Mishti Agarwal Rajvansh opposite Shaheer Sheikh in “Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke” from 2019 to 2020. Her performance in this role earned her a nomination for the Gold Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role, and her chemistry with Sheikh was highly appreciated, winning them the Gold Best Onscreen Jodi Award.
Sharma also appeared as Mishti in episodes of “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” and performed a dance number with Sheikh in “Nach Baliye 9.” After a two-year hiatus, she returned to the screen in 2022, starring opposite Sumedh Mudgalkar in the music video “Tu Hi Toh Hai.”
In terms of her public image, Sharma was ranked 30th in Eastern Eye’s “Top 50 Asian Celebrities” list in 2020 and was also included in their “Top 30 under 30 Global Asian Stars” list in 2021. Manju Chandran noted that her popularity surged in 2020 due to her involvement in storylines that addressed important social issues.
