In 1988, halfway through his graduation, Ravi Teja ventured to Madras to pursue a career in films. During his early years in Madras, he shared accommodation with YVS Chowdary and Gunasekhar. Initially, he took up small roles in films like “Karthavyam,” “Abhimanyu,” and “Chaitanya.” Later, he transitioned into assistant direction, working on various Bollywood and Telugu projects, including “Prathihnbandh,” “Aaj Ka Goonda Raj,” and “Criminal.”

In 1996, Ravi Teja landed a role in the successful film “Ninne Pelladata” directed by Krishna Vamsi, where he also worked as an assistant director.
