Career

Poonam Joshi made her acting debut in the TV series Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2001), where she played the role of Jyoti, the lead’s best friend. In 2003, she appeared in the thriller anthology Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, portraying the character Pragati from episode 48 to episode 73. In the same show, from episode 191 to episode 206, she played Piya, a girl who is Sunita’s best friend and is later revealed to be her younger sister.

In 2005, Poonam took on the role of Bindiya in the romantic drama series Kkavyanjali while also appearing as the evil sister-in-law, Chhavi Agarwal, in the popular TV show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Poonam continued her career by playing a negative role as Sanjana in the TV series Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, which aired on Sahara One in 2006. She also worked on the TV show Kahiin To Hoga, where she played Mehak Sinha, the lead protagonist’s sister, until 2006.

In 2007, she appeared as the sister-in-law of the female lead, Rishika Thakral, in the TV show Bhabhi. That same year, she made a cameo appearance as Dr. Nishi in the series Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar. In 2009, Poonam was featured as Monica in the Hindi show Mata Ki Chowki. She also played the role of Lakshmi in the television series Kashi – Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora.
