Career
In 2012, Neeta Shah joined iRock Media as the Vice President of Business Development. Her first novel, “Bollywood Striptease,” was published by Rupa Publications in February 2012. Interestingly, iRock Media acquired the rights for its film adaptation even before the book was released. In an interview, Neeta Shah expressed her amazement at how quickly things were progressing, noting that it was unprecedented in the Indian publishing world for a book’s film rights to be sold before it hit the market.
Neeta Shah’s second book, “The Stranger In Me,” was published in May 2019. This book was co-written by Aditi Mediratta Shah, who is known for her work as a second-unit director and writer. In 2022, Neeta Shah produced the film “Noorani Chehra,” which starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nupur Sanon. That same year, she co-produced a television show called “Gamer Log,” which was described as a first-of-its-kind Indian gaming series. This project was a collaboration with Abhinay Deo, who is known for directing films like “Delhi Belly,” “Force 2,” and “Blackmail,” and was produced under his company RDP Pulp Fiction Entertainment.
Neeta Shah has also been involved in the marketing and production of several films. She handled the marketing for “Grand Masti” and “Revolver Rani” in 2013. Over the years, she contributed to numerous other films, including “The Xpose” and “Heartless” in 2013; “Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans,” “Koyelaanchal,” “Kya Dilli Kya Lahore,” and “Kaun Kitne Paani Mein” in 2015; “Jai Gangaajal,” “Saat Uchakkey,” and “30 Minutes” in 2016; “Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana,” “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz,” “Daddy,” “Coffee with D,” “Haseena Parkar,” and “Dear Maya” in 2017; “Bhaiaji Superhit,” “Hotel Milan,” and “Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3” in 2018; “Fraud Saiyaan” in 2019; and “Chehre” in 2021.
Throughout her career, Neeta Shah has demonstrated her versatility by successfully venturing into both literature and film production. Her groundbreaking achievement in selling film rights for her debut novel before its release and her extensive involvement in the film industry highlight her dynamic presence in the entertainment world.
